Described as “a traveling concert circus of sorts” by The New York Times, the WYOmericana Caravan Tour is an annual, rolling representation of Wyoming’s burgeoning songwriter scene. From acoustic to electric music representing roots-rock, Americana, folk, blues, indie, country, and bluegrass, the eclectic tour began in spring 2012 with the format of three acts “caravanning” down the road together, performing individual sets, with a heap of ad-libbed collaborations between bands. A “Last Waltz” style encore with all members of the tour (as many as a dozen) closes each show, adding a camaraderie element absent from most modern day traveling shows.
